Anybody who enjoys these Steve Canyon comic strips has got to check out the Steve Canyon TV show on DVD. I watched a couple episodes recently that the Caniff Estate sent me (kind of a teaser DVD with a couple episodes) and they were really, really fun to watch. There’s a ton more info on them over at the Steve Canyon of DVD blog. If anybody has picked up the DVD’s and wants to recommend them to other readers please do here! I intend to purchase the entire collection. They were so enjoyable I can’t get them out of my mind.
Talk Soon!
I do not have the comic strips from Feb 19 to March 7th 1950 in my archive. I Apologize…the best I can do is hopefully tell you what happens in between where we left off and where we begin anew …from my “A Steve Canyon Companion” By Carl Horak, this past story was titled “Missionary” and it ran Jan 29 to March 24 1950, and it stars Doe Redwood, Happy Easter, Miss Plum. and the synopsis is:
” The fugitives—Doe, Happy and Steve—are given sanctuary by a female medical missionary who operates an orphanage behind enemy lines. She outwits puppet police who are seeking the three. When the government orders Miss Plum to bring children to a school for political instruction, Steve orders an aircraft from Dragonflies’ headquarters to airlift them out. In the rescue Steve is dropped off onto a speeding train.”
What I also did was combine the dailies and the Sunday so, Monday will be an actual Monday.
Again my apologies, Caniff-ites!! Someday I’ll find them, and post them!
