Go Check out Hogans Alley they have tons of pictures from the Reuben awards night!!! Jim Meddick was there and I missed him!
Here’s me, Stephan Pastis and the awesome and lovely Mary Anne Grimes of United Media…I was so happy Mary Anne and Rodd Perry sat next to me, because my roomies Mark Parisi , and Bucky Jones sat at other tables…I was like Linus without his security blanket haha …to my left who isn’t in the photo was the brilliant Rodd Perry of Brevity, and to Mary Anne’s right was the award winner and super talent Dave Whamond (Reality Check) and his wife…..Best line of the night from that table was somebody said about the cartoonists at the Reuben’s weekend and I quote “They only let them out of their cages once a year, so don’t expect much.” hilarious.
OH yeah one more thing, Just watched “Hancock” with Will Smith…I thought it was awesome…why it only got 2.5 star review is beyond me…anybody?

Fun things on the horizon for Rip and Co. …As you all know by now Rip and Co. have temporarily left the Soldier of Fortune biz for steady work at G.U.N.S, and Rip is having to do deal with the issue of finding out his Mom is the leader of SKULL the evil organization that wants to destroy the world for fun and profit. Rip and Co. will face new challenges in July and also learn why G.U.N.S is really TOP SECRET.
I’m starting to slow down on the long stories, and trying to do quicker stories (like the last story with the gorillas)hoping it might help with selling the feature to more papers. I’ve got a lot more long stories in me, I just want to try to make shorter stories to see if it’ll help.
the fella that looks like Rip if he was cross pollinated with Clark Gable …that’s what I think Rip’s Dad looks like…he’ll show up somewhere down the road.

Here’s some Sketches from the old sketchbook!

Dueling Banjo Pigs—This is pretty funny—It started out with a duel between friends. Guy Francis challenged fellow illustrator, Stacy Curtis, to a duel of banjo playing pigs. Now, other illustrators have joined the fun with banjo pigs of their own! Here’s a link Banjo Pigs and
this is the one I did—I called it “Pig Haywire”
